The Kankakee Country Club swim team members work all season in an effort to accomplish their goals at the season-ending Championship Meet - at last weekend's Finals they did just that and edged the Chicago Highlands Country Club swim team 1363-1313 to capture the 2017 Dolphin League Championship.

Going into the meet, Coach Melissa Tyson was very positive.
"It's a really nice day out and we have some really good swimmers out today. It should be good," Tyson said at the beginning of the meet.
Many young swimmers work all season to increase their times by the end of the season. That was a personal goal for swimmer Faith Wertz, and although they didn't win their relay, her and her teammates Eva Morris, Sydney Dorn, and Evita Martinez all said they enjoyed their race.
"We could have done better, but I still think we did really good," Wertz said.
The KCC squad entered the meet as underdogs, and weren't expected to win, but a strong team effort paid off and the Shockwaves finished on top of the final team results. Tyson said that the win was huge for the team.
