Junior High Girls Basketball: Tri-Point topples Top-seed Cissna Park to capture Regional Championship

The Tri-Point 8th Grade girls basketball team entered last week’s Crescent City Regional as the No. 3 seed, despite being undefeated against every team in the tournament field.

But the Lady Chargers used the decision as motivation, and after easily disposing of No. 6 seed St. Anne, clipped No. 2 seed and host Crescent City 24-20 to set up a championship showdown with No. 1 seed Cissna Park.

Youth Hockey: Coyotes Teams post Strong Showing at Thanksgiving Tourneys

This past weekend the Kankakee Coyotes Hockey Club 12U White and Maroon teams brought home Championship hardware from tournaments in Chicago and Bolingbrook.

Coyotes 10U and 8U teams also performed well, with the 10U Maroon team dropping a one-goal contest in their Championship matchup, while the 8U advanced to the semi-final round of their tournament.
